Sabrina Slater
Off-Ice Director

Sabrina’s love for hockey started when she was a child as her father used to listen to games on the radio. While living in Iceland as a member of the U.S. Navy, she used to spend early mornings watching whatever game was broadcast over the military channel. Her first live game came during the Colorado Avalanche’s inaugural season, and she was hooked from there.

Originally a season ticket holder, Sabrina turned her passion for the sport into a job with the team. She lived the sport, learning all aspects of it, and eventually met and married her husband Wayne Flemming, a fellow employee and longtime hockey equipment manager.

Together they opened Smokey’s Skate shop at South Suburban ice rink in Centennial, Colorado, serving hockey players both in the Denver area and around North America. She’s even taken up learning to play herself.

After discovering how few girls hockey camps there are, Sabrina decided to start her own, offering a combination of hockey and life skills in an effort to provide a safe learning environment. The goal of of Sarge’s Hat Trick Girls Hockey Camp is to teach, empower, and inspire the next generation of female hockey superstar.
